Normal Variant

The Normal Living Statue has a limited but dangerous move set:

Forward Flying Poke: A direct, lunging thrust aimed at skewering unsuspecting players.

Diagonal Slash: A swift diagonal cut from Dark And Darker Gold high right to low left (from the monster's point of view).

The good news is that these attacks can be dodged using a simple and consistent strategy: hug the Living Statue's right side (your left) and circle tightly. This movement will often cause the statue's attacks to miss entirely, especially the linear forward poke. Staying close to its flank also gives melee players an opportunity to safely dish out damage between strikes.

While the Normal variant doesn't have enhanced stats, it can still overwhelm players if encountered in groups or alongside other threats. Always stay alert, and be cautious around clusters of statues, you never know which ones are waiting to spring to life.

Elite Variant

The Elite Living Statue takes the Normal variant's mechanics and turns up the pressure:

Increased Damage: A single hit can be devastating, especially to lightly armored classes.

Faster Attack Speed: The time window to react is significantly shorter.

Higher Health: It takes more sustained damage to bring one down.

These enhancements mean players can't afford to make mistakes. That same circling strategy still works, but your timing must be razor-sharp. Stamina management becomes more important, and ranged classes should consider kiting the statue rather than engaging it up close.

To handle these effectively, bring quality Dark and Darker Items—preferably ones that increase mobility or attack speed. High DPS melee weapons, like rapiers or daggers, can allow players to get in quick strikes during the statue's recovery window.

Nightmare Variant: A Living Monument of Death

The Nightmare Living Statue is the apex threat within the Ruins. It doesn't just punish mistakes—it eliminates players who fail to adapt quickly.

New Abilities and Enhancements:

Even More Damage: Every attack can potentially be fatal.

Increased Speed (Attack and Movement): Dodging becomes a test of reflexes and prediction.

High Health Pool: Requires coordination or significant burst damage to defeat.

New Combo Attack: After the initial diagonal slash, the statue now follows up with a horizontal slash, then another diagonal slash from left to right.

This new combo significantly complicates the standard dodge strategy. Players can no longer rely on a simple circle strafe. Instead, they must dodge with intent—sidestepping the diagonal, pausing, and then quickly strafing again to avoid the follow-up combo.

At this level, bringing your best Dark and Darker Items is non-negotiable. Consider weapons with cheap Darker Gold stagger effects, gear with slash resistance, and potions that boost agility or stamina regen. Even with proper loadouts, these statues can wipe an entire party if not handled methodically.
